Change of Administrator

We have recently seen an increase in the number of Tuesday Tip subscribers emailing us with questions about changing the administrator of their RCFE. In addition to ensuring that the administrator meets the necessary training and experience requirements, it is important to notify Community Care Licensing (CCL) of any change in administrator.

According to California RCFE Regulation 87211, “The licensee shall notify the Department, in writing, within thirty (30) days of the hiring of a new administrator.” The notice must include the new administrator’s name, residence, mailing address, start date, and description of his/her qualifications and background.

You will also want to send an updated Designation of Facility Responsibility form.
