New CPR Guidelines

This week the American Heart Association announced new CPR guidelines that place a greater emphasis on chest compressions.  Most of us are familiar with the A-B-C concept that has long been a part of CPR training: Airway, Breathing, then Compressions.

The new American Heart Association Guidelines move compressions to the first step: C-A-B.  The reasons for the change include an attempt to make CPR easier to perform and to begin compressions as quickly as possible when responding to an emergency.
