The assisted living industry is regulated at the state level, but there are many federal requirements that apply to assisted living providers as employers; OSHA standards are one of the best examples. Fortunately, OSHA has several resources available on their website www.osha.gov to help you understand OSHA requirements and keep up-to-date on the latest OSHA news. Here are a few you should check out:
- OSHA Quick Takes – OSHA’S twice-monthly electronic newsletter
- OSHA QuickCards – Small, laminated cards that provide safety and health information for employers and employees
- OSHA Standards – A list of some of OSHA’s most critical standards, including bloodborne pathogens and others
These are just a few examples. Visit www.osha.gov to learn more about OSHA.
