RCFE Legislative Activity

This has turned into an unprecedented year for assisted living legislation in California, with 18 bills being proposed in Sacramento to “reform” RCFEs.  The laws being proposed include new insurance requirements, online posting of licensing reports, new training requirements, and much more.

RCFE Incident Reporting Requirements

RCFEs are responsible for reporting certain incidents to Community Care Licensing.  Regulation 87211 requires a written report be submitted for any of the following:

New LGBT Training Requirements

New laws in California (AB663) require training on cultural competency and sensitivity in LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) issues for persons becoming certified as RCFE or ARF Administrators. This training is now required as part of the administrator certification course.
