Documentation of Staff Training in Assisted Living

Staff inservice and orientation training is an important part of both staff development and regulatory compliance for assisted living and residential care providers. In addition to completing training on time and in accordance with your state regulations, it is also important to document all training. Regulations will vary, but typically your staff training documentation should include at least:

  • Trainer’s full name and qualifications
  • Subject(s) covered in the training
  • Date(s) of attendance
  • Number of training hours per subject

Ensure that the topics, trainer qualifications, and total hours are in compliance with your state assisted living regulations.
